Who is 'Operation Africa'?

Operation Africa is a non-profit, international missions organization committed to the evangelization of Military Groups and Armies in the continent of Africa. By reaching military personnel our goal is to see African nations positively impacted and challenged through the Word of God.

Our approach to this task of bible distribution is simple but effective:

• First we identify which military groups or Armies have Chaplains.
• Second we seek to support them by asking Christian churches in the “West” to own and support specific nations' military by fundraising to buy “camouflage” or “cammo” bibles.
• Third we ship or have delivered “cammo” bibles to the Military chaplains who oversee the distribution of those bibles to their troops.
• Finally the African soldier owns the bible personally, and can take it home when they leave the army.

With many soldiers dying every day through conflict, war and disease, time is of the essence. For a small regular contribution a complete bible is placed into the hands of a soldier; They are then directed by their army chaplain to local indigenous Christian churches for follow up and discipleship.

The bibles are sourced through a range of outlets based primarily on which supplier can give the most cost effective, reliable and quality service. We deliver bibles in "language of choice".

Operation Africa is registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Corporation (ASIC). It has a constitution and a code of conduct and articles of association.

The board is currently made up of four people from a range of areas in life. The board is currently seeking to strengthen its makeup by adding another board member to its panel.

Operation Africa is an organistion in which no person receives remuneration. No one is paid or draws on the funds of Operation Africa. We are run by volunteers who give of their time and talents for the love of God and a desire to see his people strengthened and expanded.

Our approach to raising money:

• Each person or family giving one bible per month at a cost of $10 (AUD) or £5 (GBP).
• Operation Africa has been given Godly direction to involve a large number of people giving a little each month. This is based on Matthew 15:27 "the crumbs from the table".
• 'Giving is at the discretion of the giver', therefore we welcome a) one-off donations, b) regular donations of as little or as much as you decide. $10/month is only a guide. We would be thankful for greater or lesser amounts.
